To whomever may read this;
The following are a series of excerpts from my personal logs intended to serve as a sort of record of the events of the Nexus. At least those events that I have been present to observe. I have attempted to record the following in a manner fitting my scientific training, insofar that the records are made impartially. However, given the nature of these events, and my personal involvement in many of them, total objectivity is impossible. Anyone inputting this data should take it with a grain of metaphysical salt; this isn't an official history by any means, but perhaps a reader in the future may gain some insight from reading of our present.
Our legacy.

Nexus 3:1 (January 24, 2000, 1:00PM EST Terran Standard)
Approximately 3 Terran Standard days ago, the Gathering hereby designated LoviCon 5 began. This event was marked by the arrival of two new Avatars in the Nexus: Kai Morgant and "Killer" Crytonian.
Kai's arrival remains a source of speculation at Steed Labs, due to his magical nature. "Killer" arrived from the 'Wing Commander' universe through an unstable rift in weakened space, opened by weapons fire. Naturally, his arrival was a bit more.... flamboyant than most. Specifically, his spacecraft crashed in the middle of the Nexus Proper. It was later destroyed when it was 'found' by Aelf Germegath of Lightfoot.
After my usual indoctrination, and the requisite information gathering, Kai chose House Delphi and "Killer" chose Ares. It is my belief that these choices will suit them well.
Indeed, Kai and I seem to see eye to eye on a variety of subjects. Including how to deal with Killer during some of his more difficult moments.
A large portion of this event took place in the territory of Kuni Talgar of Galahad. In particular, a number of martial arts competitions took place. I was impressed by the prowess shown by the participants and combatants. In addition, I was introduced to a fascinating martial art known as 'Slow Fu'. More study in this area has already been initiated.
The Nexus was, once again, infiltrated by an outside force. A sort of energy-extracting infection entered the Nexus. Attempts to isolate Patient Zero for analysis were unsuccessful, though examinations of these 'Shadowbrands' indicated a drop in Avatar energy when a brand is applied. Observations also suggest an alteration of sorts occurs when a limit of 5 brands were reached. After a series of scans, diagnostics, and in-depth research sessions, and with the aid of Kai and information provided by Lord Sunburst of Avalon, I was able to determine that sunlight could remove the brand and restore the Avatar to normal. As a result, I constructed fifteen tri-cobalt/magnesite devices and distributed them to each House.
This move turned out to be totally preemptive, as the source of the infection was revealed to us. It would seem that a conflict between the deities of the Sun and of the Moon, a love conflict apparently, caused the God of the Moon to create an entity that had been disguised as Aelf. While I don't understand all of what was involved, this lifeform was sent into the Nexus to spread the brands as an extension of the Moon's dislike of the Sun's affections turning from him to the Avatars of the Nexus.
As I said, I don't understand the logic. Perhaps I have misinterpreted the events? Kuni Talgar, who seemed to have a more than periphery role, may hold further information.
Irregardless, as the Galahad says, the end of the scenario holds with whichever Avatars holding brands keeping them if desired, or removing them with my devices or Sunburst's resources if not desired. I intend to observe as these events transpire.

Nexus 3:2 (July 16, 2000, 7:08PM EST Terran Standard)
LoviCon 6ish, the latest assembly of Avatars, took place July 7 - 9, Terran Standard. This event marked sweeping changes for the Nexus, beginning with the Nexal New Year. We have also experienced a remarkable influx of new Avatars. This is appropriate, given a number of older Avatars have decided to leave the Nexus. Among these are Meleena Bunny / Lanfear, Ronnie Creed, Overlord Xur, and Bishop of Delphi. The effects of these departures remain to be seen.
The Nexus Triumvirate, comprised of Valeria Kane of Lugosi, Bron Price of Lightfoot, and Chickenman of Tocsin has been disbanded in favor of a true Council led by these individuals and representing each House. I find this configuration more agreeable.
A shocking number of individuals have been involved in a scenario in the disputed Territory of New Columbia. The details of this story are unimportant. The region has been Regented. However, the Inhabitant population has vanished. I am attempting to find them, especially the Delphi faction, whom I have some emotional connection to.
Also shocking is the revelation that Dr. Eddie Dean of Godot is, in fact, the Head of House Fleming. His infiltrative abilities are equal to his scientific capability; he remained in deep cover undetected for a Nexal year. He should prove to be a most interesting ally.
A faction of Xarkol, the dominant group within Tocsin, has apparently broken off. The 'Amber Code', as they prefer to be called, contacted the Nexus en masse in an attempt to gain freedom. They were briefly in contact with Eriska, an artificial intelligence of my creation. I know little of what happened after this, as I was in New Columbia when this conflict took place.
During this event, I noticed a new Delphi, whose acquaintance I have not yet made. She seems familiar somehow. More details on this may be forthcoming.
Delphi itself underwent a massive alteration. Our Head, Bishop, has departed the Nexus, leaving Moiraine Nifty Kroe in charge. While I have not yet made any conclusions about Kroe's ability to lead, I question the manner in which Bishop appointed her. Bishop made a most passionate argument on the subject of democracy, catalyzing the reformulation of the Nexal government, only to unilaterally appoint a leader of a House whose basis is community and equal say. It is my hope and belief that Kroe may prove to be a more democratic and receptive leader of Delphi.
The repercussions of LoviCon 6ish are still being gauged. Who will be the new Nexus Sheriff now that Xur is gone? Will the new Council be more effective than the last iterations of the same? What will become of Delphi? And why are systems Lab-wide malfunctioning? I will be observing these and other scenarios very closely indeed.

Nexus 3:2 (September 10, 2000, 7:09PM EDT Terran Standard)
My first attempt to locate the missing Inhabitants of New Columbia has failed. As closely as I can gauge, they dissipated from reality one hour after being exposed to the vibrational constant of the Nexus Proper. I have allied myself with Lucas Jamison and Killer Crytonian in an attempt to enhance my research and data-processing capabilities.
Also of note, the Delphi Cliffs are no more. When Bishop abdicated the Nexus, a key component in the stability of the Cliffs was lost. It is theorized that since the Cliffs were jointly Regented by the House, and in part created by Bishop, the loss of her influence destabilized the Territory. All lifeforms and valuable structures were evacuated from the Territory before its collapse. This process yielded some interesting data. For one, Inhabitants are more intrinsically tied to their Territory than previously thought. When the process began, the Inhabitants became sluggish and dull-witted. They began to 'forget', as their minds vanished with the Territory. My technology also broke down, requiring me to take extraordinary means to move the Labs to a safe haven. Transplantation into an unaffected Territory reversed the process with surprising rapidity. I was also able to obtain valuable readings pertaining to the mechanics of the disintegration. Without Bishop's "stabilizing effect", a quantum vibrational constant, previously only observed in the Nexus Proper, radiated into the Territory. This vibration effect may break down Nexal matter and energy patterns established by Regents. If so, then it would explain the inability of just anyone to influence the Proper directly. The 'absorption' was very similar to the creation of the Territory, which I also observed, run in reverse.
Looking forward, Lovious has contacted me on a matter of Nexal research. It is his intention to explore beyond the known area of the Nexus; a region we have termed the 'Outer Nexus'. I will elaborate further as the project moves forward. Also present at this meeting was Lucas Jamison and, surprisingly, Nilaviri De'Vive. The former influence of the Fury entity has apparently been removed, restoring her to her previous self. It is also of note that, before this meeting, I had a conversation with Scoop. He revealed that the Nexus Sheriff's Department was now defunct. Crytonian made an overture towards its resurrection, but further developments on this have not yet been made.
My readings indicate that a Gathering is approaching; a rather large one at that. Aside from likely providing a great deal of activity and information, the constancy of the predicted time intervals shows that the new Nexal timebase is accurate. I commend the researchers at Banana University for their work on this matter.
Perhaps less sanguine is a recent turn of events in the Nexus. The Nexus itself, it seems, is deactivating certain key functions. Journeying is now impossible and entities identified as 'Gothic', 'Fantasy', and 'Superpowers' (see Research Project 9801: Intrinsic Properties of Avatars and their Affects) have lost their powers. The proximity of these events to a Gathering is likely not coincidence. I confess a certain wariness that 'Technology', myself included, may be next.
Finally, Bayushi Taga of Fleming (formerly known as Kuni Talgar of Ares) has delivered to me the story of Lord Moon and Lady Sun. This data can be accessed in the new subsection of the Steed Labs database, The Memory Alpha II Library.

Nexus 3:2 (September 18, 2000 12:25PM EDT Terran Standard)
The current Gathering has come to an end. I admit a certain satisfaction in my ability to predict these occurrences with some accuracy. Banana University also deserves a great deal of credit for their work on this subject. Their timebase made it possible for me to predict Gatherings. It also allowed me to complete a theory that holds that major occurrences in the Nexus transpire at Gatherings. Could this be some sort of reaction to the Anchor Theory?
The event in question, now known as 'Macrocide', was tied into the 'Power drain' from certain Genres, as I hypothesized. During this time, the Nexus handed out 'placation items' to the affected Avatars. In an attempt to make life easier for them, two manifestations, one of whom I recognized as Lysander, bestowed temporary powers upon affected Avatars. They gave to me a sort of 'shield' that protected me from physical projectiles. Why they would give an unaffected Tech a new power is unknown to me. I can only assume they had a goal in mind. However, the shield proved useful, as I will elaborate on later.
After some creative prodding, the Nexus, manifesting as the 'Girl in Green', obtained the services of Kai Morgant, Moiraine Kroe, and myself to research the power drain effect. I was able to determine that the Nexus has 'shifted', for lack of a better word, as indicated by certain 'guidepoints' in spacetime which I observe. The relevance of this was revealed to me later. Kai was able to discern more; he noted the existence of a tome entitled "The Book of Infinite Knowledge". I have nominated Kai to receive a Galahad Award for his work.
The three of us sought out the aid of Lovious and Dr. Eddie Dean. The five of us traveled to a previously unobserved part of the Nexus, where we encountered what Lovious termed a "Someone Else's Problem" (or SEP) field. This field seemed to protect the contents by convincing a target that the matter was someone else's problem. We were unable to bypass the field.
Later that day, most of the assembled Avatars gathered to share information. We 'willed' ourselves to the Book, only to find a small man sitting at a table, guarding the tome. When questioned, he informed us that we may have the Book if we beat him at a game. A game called "Fleem". Needless to say, no one among us had ever heard of it before and the stakes were high: our own energy was the currency. I stood by, observing the game to discern the rules (which were not given to us beforehand). Between me, Kagato of Renaissance, Spew of Ares, Dean, Zero of Renaissance, and a few others, we were able to form a rudimentary strategy. The game was won, due almost exclusively to Jarrit Lang of Galahad, a new arrival, and his remarkable gambling skill.
The Book was won. The question came up of who should possess the Book. Bayushi Taga declared that the Book will not be moved until a decision was reached unanimously (a wise move, I must say). I recommended that the Book be given to Kai Morgant, since it was his work that uncovered its existence in the first place, and that the Book has a significance to him that seems to draw him to it. The entire assembly, more than 25 Avatars, agreed immediately. When asked by Taga, Kai agreed to the responsibility. This occurrence, incidentally, gives me some hope for the future of the Nexus. A large group of Avatars, most of whom were threatened personally by the power drain, unanimously agreed to a logical course of action in under ten seconds. If this way of thinking and logical discourse could be brought to the Council.....
At any rate, the Book was given to Kai, at which time a select group of Kai's choosing was escorted to a secure location by Taga to begin work. Dr. Dean, Moiraine, Tybalt (who provided us with some early insight into the first research), and myself followed Kai and Taga. Upon opening the Book, we found print that didn't match any known language in our collective experience. Barred from using computers by mutual agreement, in case the Book should prove dangerous, we began to work the code by hand. I can't say I was able to contribute much to the effort. Later, the Book was brought to a number of individuals and was successfully translated.
Once translated and read aloud, the Book vanished, leaving only the translation behind. It was some time before we grasped the meaning of this passage.
In a conversation later on, Abu Said made an interesting comment. He likened the Nexus to a tube of toothpaste which was being squeezed. I proposed that we put the toothpaste back into the tube. I recalled that Dr. Dean had (for reasons unknown to even himself; possibly Nexal intervention) had created a Quantum Grenade. I further remembered that he had learned that Quantum energy could take the form of any energy in the Nexus. I indicated this to him. He found the final piece an instant later: the Tech Electromagnetic Shields.
During LoviCon 6, some Tech Genre Avatars were hit by falling black spheres. I was able to determine the nature of these spheres quite quickly. When gripped in the hand of a Tech Genre character with Electromagnetic Adaptation (see Research Project 9801: Intrinsic Properties of Avatars and their Effects), it cast a powerful defensive shield.
Dean realized that the balance described in the Book had been shifted in favor of Tech. This also ties into my research indicating that the Nexus had 'shifted'. He determined that if the spheres were destroyed by a quantum detonation, the balance would be restored. I surrendered my sphere, as did several others. One sphere remained undestroyed: that held by Bron Price. The effects of this have yet to be seen. However, the lost powers are returning. I commend Dr. Dean for his rapidly growing insight into Nexal metaphysics.
On a personal note, I was killed for the first time during this Gathering. Ty Verrat of Lightfoot informed me that Lady Shadow was calling a meeting between her, Kai, and myself, involving the continued life of Bron Price, which mirrored a communiqué sent from Salina of Lugosi to Kai. As I had further need of Price, and had no desire to see him come to harm, I agreed. Dubious of this however, I set some precautions.
Kai and I traveled with Verrat aboard his ship (which closely resembles a Klingon vessel) to a devastated location of the Proper with Taga listening in over some sort of device. It was quickly revealed that Shadow wasn't involved here. For some reason unknown to me, Nilaviri De'Vive assembled a Lightfoot strike team for the purpose of killing me and my friend. Kai was cut down by chaingun fire almost instantly. I was able to dodge the first volley from Nil's gun only to run into the rest of the strike force. Machine gun fire would have certainly killed me had it not been for the shield Lysander and his compatriot had given me earlier. Next, Bron drew a bead on me and fired an energy blast. The blast was slightly more than I could absorb. I hadn't even had time to activate the precautions I had placed in effect before leaving.
I do not understand why I would be targeted for assault. There are, however, two possibilities. First, I -am- a Delphi. Despite our many services and the work we do to protect the Nexus from harm, we seem to be a reviled group. Perhaps we are viewed as some sort of Obsidian Order? The second possibility is that she was exacting some sort of misguided revenge. While it is true that Shadow was, in fact, Nil infected with a Fury, I was not aware of that until Nil was free of the influence. Perhaps I am seen as having been remiss in not removing the Fury for her a year ago? Ironically, I was working on such a process during the last large-scale Fury incursion and would have performed it had I perfected it and been aware of what Shadow actually was. It matters little now, however, especially given what I am about to report.
Ironically, my death served my own goals. The force with which I perished ejected me from the usual 'Nexal Aether' in which the dead reside for an hour and into some other place; some sort of new territory. My computers are busy gathering vast quantities of data largely relevant to the Nexus at work. Nil and her ambush benefited my research. This ambush also enlightened me as to the nature of certain Avatars and made me aware of a flaw in my own daily practices. I would thank them for their services to me if I wasn't relatively sure the conversation would end with me dead once again.
Also of interest, it seems that Tybalt (or is he calling himself Catalyst now?) has repaid a debt to the Nexus. Both of his eyes are now intact and he seems healthy. He also seems to be able to move about the Nexus once again. It is likely not coincidence that the new Delphi territory, blocked off at one point, is once again accessible. Tybalt/Catalyst seems intrinsically tied into it.
Moiraine has frequently, especially at this Gathering, expressed displeasure at the role that Bishop has thrust her into. At the very least, I do not believe she will be campaigning very hard for the position of House Head come the elections at the next Great Gathering. While I disagree with her 'hands-off' leadership approach, she is as open to other points of view as I had hoped. By virtue of this, I find her to be a more effective leader than Bishop was. She also, despite her elevated station, treats the other Delphi as equals rather than inferiors, holding more true to Bishop's original edict than Bishop herself. If nothing else, I forsee interesting times in Delphi.
Kai is undergoing some sort of replicative invasive process. Just beneath his skin, metallic tendrils are growing all over his body, seemingly from the collar he wears. When I first saw it, I thought that somehow the Borg had invaded the Nexus. Further study showed that the tendrils are almost like fractals, each branch being an 'extra' Avatar Signature, though each signature is Kai's. It's almost as if he's suffering from a physical form of multiple personalities. Further study on this will obviously be conducted.
It seems that Lucas Jamison has successfully joined Delphi. How this could have occurred without my knowledge, as I was one of the Delphi who barred him from joining the House pending a one year review, is unknown. Perhaps he has joined the House but is not what Bishop called a 'True Delphi', but a 'Rogue Delphi', as Deidre is. Nevertheless, I am aware of his publicly-expressed intentions toward Delphi. I must have a word with Moiraine on the subject.
There is nothing new to report of the other Delphi. It's distressing that I know nothing of almost a dozen House-mates.
Expanding outward, the influx of new Avatars is continuing. Cleese is now a House for the first time since the disappearance of Fish. Socket, a new arrival just prior to LoviCon 6, became the de facto House Head, being that he was the only House member. At this Gathering, two more Cleese entered the Nexus; Mr. Peanut and Maxwell. I also observed the appearance of Samantha Kane of Lugosi, who may or may not be of relation to Valeria.
The Nexus also seems to be switching through manifestations. Lysander and the Girl in Green are present as always, as is that ineffable presence that seems to accompany extremely important events, but one manifestation is gone and two others have come in its place. As always, I shall remain observant.

Nexus 3:2 (September 21, 2000, 11:23AM EDT Terran Standard)
Success!
After months of on-again, off-again effort, clues, riddles, and an item that no longer seems to exist, I have accessed my new Territory!
Some months ago, I made a bargain with the Nexus. In return for certain services, I would be given my own land. Despite Bishop's.... vehement ex-post facto warnings, the deal has turned out to be a mutually-profitable one.
Bear in mind, this was back in the days of the original Delphi Cliffs, where it was theoretically possible for a number of Delphi (or even one significantly powerful one) to reconfigure any locale, even Steed Labs, without my consent. For reasons both personal and scientific, this was obviously unacceptable. Thus, I asked and the Nexus gave; partitioning off a Territory-space and giving me clues to unravel the mystery of the new land.
The Territory did not come easily. I spend a great deal of effort attempting to locate the lost 'Lowrider', an old Lightfoot item that the Nexus intimated would aid me in my quest. This avenue was discarded, since the Lowrider doesn't appear to exist in Nexus 3. I pursued another venue.
The Nexus, manifesting as the Girl in Green, had created a portal to the Territory months ago. By now, the portal had collapsed to the size of a basketball. I realized I would have to act quickly.
I sent through a standard Starfleet transponder, attempting to get a transporter lock. The transponder vanished. I tried relaying a transport signal through, it was not stable enough for life-form transit. I send an exocomp in, the sensor readings were all zero. Just when I was running out of ideas, a small reptilian creature poked its head out of the portal and said "Hello?".
After a conversation, I determined that this lifeform (designated species: Reptiloid) was an Inhabitant of the new Territory and recognized me as Regent. I named him Quirk, for reasons obvious. Quirk proved an invaluable asset; his straight-forward thinking allowed me to understand that all I had to do to reach the Territory was decide what was on the other side.
On the other side of the portal was Nuova One. And a second Reptiloid. I've named her Nova, in commemoration of the first dawn on Nuova One.
I have since created a world and a star, moved Steed Labs, and am working on many new additions to the new globe.
Note to self: append to Lovious the sensor readings taken of the unformed Territory. This could be an indicator of what we'll find in the Outer Nexus.

Nexus 3:2 (January 3, 2001, 12:54PM EDT Terran Standard)
The game is afoot once again.
This morning, I was alerted to an impending event. As Lovious might say, 'the Anchors are drawing together'. If my calculations are correct, a Gathering will occur in 7 to 10 Terran Standard days. This event is somewhat unusual; I wasn't expecting a Gathering to occur for another month at least. Nevertheless, I will be most satisfied should this prove to be correct; if an event does happen sometime next week, it will mean that I can now predict Gatherings and enable an early-warning system. This would also give me a chance to test my hypothesis that large-scale activity and events predictably occur at Gatherings.
On the subject of Gatherings, I was too occupied with my own work to have participated much in the most recent event, designated LugosiCon. My only activity of significance was utilizing transporter technology to save the life of Lady Katana. A number of metals had been introduced on a microscopic level into her body; a fatal event to a fey. With some inventive configurations, owing much to the 'diagnostic loop' procedure invented by Captain Montgomery Scott and the expertise of our own Chief O'Brian, we were able to extract the metal while she was in phase transition. What remains is a trace amount of metal in her that is as far as I can determine harmess and inextricable, and a lump of alloy in which I have isolated elemental iron, lead, and a third metal unknown to Federation science. This has been sent to the Metallurgy Lab at Steed Labs for further tests.
Also of note, Kai Morgant has been appointed Head of Delphi. Once again, I was not informed of a change of leadership, nor was I included in the decision. Apparantly, Moiraine departed and handed it over to Kai, or some such. Very Bishop-like. While I am obviously not sanguine about the constant deviations from democratic process, I daresay that Kai will be the best leader Delphi has had to date despite his reciscience. He has a well-ordered and disciplined mind which recognises its own limitations. Tybalt accepts him as the current leader, which is a boon in Kai's favor.
Kai's afore-mentioned fractal infection has taken a turn for the strange; he can now excersize control over the metal in his body.
I am in the process of several scientific and engineering endeavours. First, Lucas Jamison has kindly loaned me one of the singularity-based computational elements from Chiba for my inspection. In return, I am sending a group of specialists to Chiba to make repairs.
Some time ago, Chiba, a vast computational unit, was damaged in battle against the Requiem Guild. Lost were the designers of the Salzillo Compensators, as well as the devices themselves; unfortunate, since Chiba can't function beyond the most rudimentary level without them. It has been noted, however, that the Heisenberg Compensators in standard Starfleet transporter units serve a similar function. The afore-mentioned group will attemp to adapt my science to Lucas' to bring Chiba back online.
Finally, I am assigning Security Chief Odo an assistant. A new Avatar, Mazzic Kat, has expressed an interest in learning of the Nexus and conducting experiments of his own. His background as an investigative law-enforcer leads me to conclude that an appointment at Nuova One would be mutually beneficial. There's only so many places Odo can be at once, after all. For the time being, he has Alpha-3 clearance and status as a Consultant. I am leaving it to Odo to determine if Mazzic should be a permanant fixture.

Nexus 3:3 (April 8, 2001, 1:57AM, EST Terran Standard)
Three Gatherings have come to pass since my last log entry, as well as a sort of 'side event', so there is much to report. The first event, Gateway, was a time of introductions - the current trend in new Avatars arriving continued unabated. The Nexus was in good working order, so I took the time to work on a few side-projects.
The second event, designated DobaCon - which, curiously, wasn't instigated by Godot - involved a Nexal tragedy. A malevolent entity known as Charon attempted to blast the Nexus apart and reform it as his private paradise. His scheme was stopped by raiding parties of Avatars locating and deactivating a series of nuclear bombs. Of these groups, Cleese, Godot, and Avalon were conspicuous. In the end, the Nexus was restored to order. I apologise for my lack of detail as to this incident; I spent most of it in Steed Labs, attempting to work out solutions to the problem - specifically the nuclear devices themselves and the seeming invunerability of Charon. Further information could likely be ontained from The Ferryman (or his records, if he keeps any), as he was obviously a critical piece of the puzzle, or the House of Avalon, who were strongly involved and are noted as good record-keepers.
The third event was less an event as it was a party. In honor of the Terran holiday of St. Patrick's Day, House Godot threw a weekend-long bash, which I had the pleasure of attending. During this time, I closed Nuova One Research and invited all personnel to take a well-deserved shore-leave. I also had a chance to have conversations with several Avatars, including Valeria Kane, Aelf, and Lovious, which were for once not business. It was a most relaxing and diverting celebration.
The most recent event was the annual Spring Gathering. This event was 'quiet', in that no major metaphysical incidents took place (at least I assume not, since Delphi wasn't called in). Taking full advantage of this lull, Kai assembled all of the present Delphi for our first meeting in over one standard year. During this meeting, many issues were resolved and, for the first time, Delphi has found unity. I applaud Kai for his work and his foreward-thinking policies as House Head. I am most gratified that my initial assesment of his ability was correct; he is the best leader we have had since we came into existance.
Not only was Delphi able to convene, but we also constructed new House policies. While some of these cannot be published publicly, I will expound upon those that can. First, Delphi now has in place a set schedule for compensation for our research talents - a unified House position that has been strongly lacking. Tying this into the record of events, I have detcted a massive event coming soon. All indications are that this will be the largest Gathering I have on record. Not only that, but I have learned that a large influx of Level-0 Avatars are expected. At this time, House Head elections are to take place. Kai is currently looking into whether or not Delphi will require an election, or if we have alternate metaphysical consideraitons. This turn pleases me, as Delphi hasn't had a proper election since its inception. This is not to say I would see Kai voted out of office - quite the opposite, actually - but I have found the lack of due process to be disturbing. It is likely Kai will be re-elected or will maintain the position, which is more than satisfactory.
As a side-note to the subject of House positions, Delphi has chosen me to represent the House in an official capacity. I shall endeavour to represent my fellows uniformly while maintaining the House's policy of political neutrality.
It appears that Delphi is on its way to being the House we were promised it would be. For the first time in a long while, I look forward to the future.

Nexus 3:3 (May 28, 2001, 10:48PM EDT Terran Standard)
What began as a whisper may end with the destruction of the Nexus. The Furies, long-held as an invasionary threat to us, have been revealed to be our best, possibly only hope. I don't know if we're in time to save that bright future I was looking toward. Our much-touted legacy may end up being little more than a few stray quarks wandering what's left of the Mulitverse.
The most recent Gathering, henceforth designated Dreamation 2001, has seen a nightmare. The Furies returned to the public eye just days ago. Several Avatars, including the version of Lovious known as Lovious Prime, destroyed the Furies' home of Shadowlands, believing them to be a threat. At the same time, two entities known as Cain and Lilith (no apparant active relation to the House of the same name) slipped into the Nexus. Current reports show they are phages, entities that solely consume, not unlike the Phage Plague of my home unniverse. They eat energy, and the Furies are their filet mignon. At the same time, only the Furies posess sufficient power to defeat them.
The Furies, our best shot at salvation, are dying off. With the Shadowlands destroyed, they have no place to regroup and the positive-charge energy present in most areas of the Nexus is killing them off. They are also being actively hunted, which isn't helping matters any.
To make matters worse, the Nexus Council has voted to disband in an attempt to force the Nexus' guiding intelligence to eliminate the Furies. In addition to the obvious implications to the Furies, the Nexus will now destabalize; it's only a matter of time. Further, there was already an imabalance - light had prevailed over darkness in the elimination of the Shadowlands. This combined imbalance rivals the one seen during Macrocide.
The Council vote to dissolve was unanimous and I was part of that vote. This is where I failed. I allowed my fear and prejudice to influence my better judgement, just like the rest of the Avatars. I didn't stop to ponder why the Nexus was continuously bringing the Furies back. The evidence was all there; accepting a Fury was voluntary on the part of the Avatar. I think I know how Picard felt; I helped create this disaster. This is my Wolf 359 and I play the role of Locutus, unwittingly participating in the destruction. I have to help solve it. I must make amends to the Nexus and to the Furies.
I and others have a plan in action to prevent the ensuing slaughter. This plan won't be found either here, not in my secured archives, nor anywhere else I control unless it's successful. Should we fail, I have a final, extreme countermeasure. If things go that far, this will be the final log entry. I've encoded all the data I've gathered in the last two and a half years and the Eriska program within a holo-matrix of myself for burst-transmission to my friend at Starfleet Command, Admiral Calavicci, to be dispatched in the event of irreparable disaster. It'll be up to him to decide what to do with it.
In the meantime, Nuova One is under Level 3 Sanctuary quarantine. May whatever gods there are help us.
